You can brew your own beer to eliminate the shipping, plastic wrappers and packaging. Then use the cork and growler bottling method. I love the site, please keep it going.
Fake Plastic Fish has done some calculations on daily plastic waste. Check out the horror below (a high and low estimate):
4.5 lbs/day x 365 days x 55% x 9.4% = 84.9 pounds of plastic waste per person per year
4.5 lbs/day x 365 days x 65% x 12% = 128.1 pounds of plastic waste per person per year
Great project. I saw photos of baby albatrosses with plastics in their stomachs. It made me want to get rid of all plastics. But it’s so hard. I’ve stopped buying all beverages and just drink water. I know I have a long way to go. Thank you for the inspiration!
Are those plastic caps from milk? It’s easy to get off milk because your body does not need it

Can you find Blanche de Chambly? It’s a beer by Unibroue (with the cork and metal cap) with only 5% alcohol, and it’s delicious.

Would be interesting to contrast these pictures with an average North American’s plastic use!
