After several years of attempting to live plastic free, here is a list of some of the benefits I have noticed:
- Reawaken creativity.
- Increased self-reliance. Learned how to cook from scratch, grow food etc.
- Health improvements.
- Kicked make-up habit (expensive and unhealthy). Without mascara, can rub my eyes again, whenever I want.
- Brings value and beauty back into my life.
- More meaningful connections in community.
- Can smell again. Helps me avoid things that are bad for me, and go for things that are good.
- Can taste again (related to above). Bad food tastes bad.
- Sense of leadership.
- Sense of individuality.
- Own less junk.
- Buy less but better quality products.
- Own nicer clothes. Not synthetic crap.
- Ongoing fun challenge in life. Finding something new and plastic free is a delight.
- Smarter- you can’t fool me! Opened my eyes to the insane manipulation of corporations and their clever marketing. Feel like no longer a blind pawn.
- Relieved of the burden of waste and the ill feelings related to wasting.
- Healthier environment inside home.
- Enjoy using consumer power greatly.
- Save money.
- Healthy baby. Better role model for baby.
Probably many more..
